Lexington Voice Teacher Gray Leiper

Gray Leiper, M.M.

Vocalist Gray Leiper is a Boston-based voice teacher and baritone. As a teacher, Gray seeks to establish a vocal technique that promotes longevity and flexibility allowing a singer to be uninhibited physically or emotionally in any genre. He believes every singer has one voice that can be shaped and trained to create a sound for any situation.

Gray maintains a private voice studio for students of all ages in the Greater Boston area. His students regularly participate in leading youth choruses, musical theater workshops, and award winning choral ensembles. Most recently, he taught on the faculty of the Boston Conservatory Vocal/Choral Intensive where he instructed voice and upper-level ear training to advanced high-school aged singers from around the world. Leiper regularly performs with many Boston based opera companies and regional choral organizations including Odyssey Opera, MASS Opera, Metropolitan Chorale, Seraphim Singers, and Ensemble Companio.

Hailed for his “clear baritone and vocal mastery”, his recent credits include Figaro (Il barbiere di Siviglia) in a Pop-Up Opera, Dottore Malatesta (Don Pasquale), Brutus (The Resurrection of Lucretia), Un Uffiziale (Maria, regina d’Inghilterra), Papageno (Die Zauberflöte), The Businessman (The Little Prince), Assan (The Consul), Guglielmo (Così fan tutte), Figaro (Le nozze di Figaro), Dandini (La Cenerentola), Andy Warhol (Jackie-O), and Top (The Tenderland).
