Pianist Julia Y. Chung is a member of New England Piano Teachers’ Association (NEPTA) and has been teaching piano in private lessons for more than 15 years in Boston area and South Korea. She is an active pianist and instrumental accompanist for different music genres and is also a keyboardist in her church. A passionate and experienced piano teacher, Ms. Chung helps her students learn the piano with fun and joy and helps them build a strong foundation for performing the piano.
After moving to Boston area along with her family in 2007, Ms. Chung had attended Piano Interpretation and Performance Seminars (instructor: Ya-Fei Chuang) in New England Conservatory of Music (NEC), Boston, for 3 years. During this span she performed at several piano recitals in NEC.
Ms. Chung received her Bachelor’s degree in Piano at the School of Music in Mokwon University, where she studied with scholarship, and then further studied Music Education for her Master’s degree at the graduate school of Chungnam National University, South Korea. Her previous mentors include Ya-Fei Chuang, Samuel Adams, Jeanie Lee, and Heesook Lee.
