Karishma Javier is a Lyric Coloratura Soprano with an extended vocal range who is a very versatile singer of music in 10 languages and 17 genres. Javier is passionate about all types of music with high energy and believes in the limitless possibilities of musical expression.
Karishma Javier has training from the Conservatory Of Music of Puerto Rico and the Interamerican University where she earned a Bachelor of Arts in Jazz Music. Karishma Javier also studied at The Bellas Artes School of Acting, specializing in television and film. Her teaching style focuses on a holistic approach, supporting the intellect, emotions, and body. Karishma believes that music is a universal language of communication and is best used to lift up peoples’ mind, soul, spirit and bring sense into their lives.
Notable past operatic performances include the role of “Ida” in Mozart’s “Die Fledermaus” at the Bellas Artes Performing Arts Center of Puerto Rico with the P.R Symphony Orchestra, Earth Day Multi Cultural concerts at the Bellas Artes center, and the showcase voice of the “AQUA” international circus the most successful long running show in P.R. and Dominican Republic.
As a world music singer, Javier has recorded for the Nominee Awarded Latin Jazz Percussionist Paoli Mejias 2nd Album “TRANSCEND” vocally merging Arabic and south Indian “Karnatic” scales.
As a composer, Karishma Javier also recorded a World Music CD album called “Karishma and Enrique Cardenas “Voces, Cuerdas y Guitarras”.
Karishma has shared the stage with many professional renowned Artists and musicians such as Grammy awarded artist Mamadou Diop, Enrique Cardenas, William Cepeda, and Marco Pignataro.
Javier also has a varied background, having been a catwalk model, CBS news reporter, music event coordinator, and commercial jingle performer.
Here in Boston, Karishma is the singer of a Jazz quintet group called Airoa Mukare, a voice teaching coach, and an active freelancer.
