Laura H. Randall, M.M.

Laura Hairgrove Randall is a classically trained flutist and traverso player based in the Boston/Providence metro area. Known for her warm sound and expressive interpretation on both modern and historical flutes, Laura holds graduate degrees in flute performance from the Longy School of Music (M.M.) and Boston University (G.P.D.) and is currently pursuing a D.M.A. in Historical Performance at Boston University with Christopher Krueger. Her research interests consist of narrative and communication in music, music and theology, music education, and French sacred music with a particular focus on French sacred cantatas. Laura is on the faculty of Coda Mountain Academy Summer Music Festival, and is a founding member of Wires & Woods period performance band, Pear Tree and Partridge duo, and Tres Doulx Renaissance flute consort. Laura believes in teaching classical repertoire with an integrated approach: ensemble playing, improvisation, and body awareness through Body Mapping and Alexander Technique. Laura lives with her husband Bob, their mischievous Siberian cat Anastasia, and bubbly little Yorkie puppy Izzy in West Newton, MA. Website: www.laurarandall.net
