Pianist Tessa Ying’s journey in music started as a pianist at age 4, growing up in a musical family in Singapore and gaining a strong foundation in classical piano, earning the DipABRSM and Associateship Diploma Trinity College of Music by age 13. Through her teenage years, she was invited to perform at venues like Esplanade Concert Hall and DBS Auditorium. She eventually shifted her focus to pop and modern genres, and attended Lasalle College of the Arts, graduating with a Diploma in Music Performance (Piano). After graduation, Tessa’s passion for teaching led her to start working as a piano teacher. She worked with children as she loves developing the passion to push musical and technological boundaries in the next generation.

Tessa decided to further her education at Berklee College of Music in Boston, MA. During her time studying, she explored her love of Electronic Music, Engineering and Production, and delved deep into the recording world. She worked with artists in various genres, recording Pop, Jazz, Film/Orchestral Music and her personal favorite – EDM. She graduated with a dual Bachelor’s in Music Production & Engineering, and Electronic Production & Design. She is currently active in the industry doing composition, arrangement, recording, and production for clients.

Tessa has always had a passion for teaching and sharing her love of music. She aims to create a fun and positive learning environment that will nurture motivation and passion. Having strong instrumental and recording skills, she can help students who want to explore self-production. Students will learn to express themselves with music and build strong piano technique.
