Pianist Yu Ya Huang has her master’s degree in piano performance and music education from The Boston Conservatory. As a performer, she has given recitals in Boston, MA, California, and Taiwan. As an accompanist, Miss Huang has performed with instrumentalists, choral groups, theater productions, and dance companies. She is also a very experienced early-childhood educator. Currently, Huang teaches piano at schools in the Great Boston area and performs salon music from time to time.
In recent years, in addition to her great passion in composing, Miss Huang has been involved in charity works, such as helping people in third world countries, volunteering in different religion groups, and helping seniors in various communities. Yu Ya is also intrigued by music therapy, Chinese herbal medicine, and holistic healing.
Miss Huang has published 3 New Age instrumental albums and 1 compilation album with 36 leading edge New Age musicians in helping South African children in need. Her music has earned airplay on Music Choice Soundscapes, Sky FM, Galaxie Cable, and numerous radio outlets around the world.
Yu Ya places great importance on establishing interpersonal skills with her students and relates well to children. She aims to impart her knowledge and experience to offer students high standards that will produce very prepared, marketable, and talented artists.
