Guitarist Jiro Duenez grew up in a musical family. He learned the basics of the acoustic guitar from his father when he was six years old and how to rock on an electric guitar from his older brother. As a child, Jiro was immersed in many diverse genres of music, all shared by his family members and later adopted into his vocabulary of music. He transitioned into playing guitar for a local pop & jazz ensemble in his teenage years while also teaching the basics of guitar to students of different ages at the same time. Jiro attended Berklee College of Music where he studied guitar as his principal instrument and songwriting as his major. Jiro continued to teach guitar lessons to fellow students during his undergraduate years. After Berklee, Jiro became a part time studio & gigging musician for various groups and artists, leaving his mark on the music scene throughout Boston. Jiro is a kind, patient, and empathetic teacher who understands the importance of individualized learning and that playing music can equip young minds with the creativity and determination needed for later opportunities in life
